Alpaca Festival

Alpaca is a festival and conference on algorithmic patterns in the creative arts, returning to Sheffield for its second edition in May 2027. Expect gigs, a club night, and loads of hands-on workshops and talks.

Alpaca aims to bring together people who value deep, human curiosity into patterns – whether they're exploring patterns in heritage crafts or contemporary algorithmic art.

Their first event in 2025 showcased patterns in South Indian rhythms, juggling, weaving/braiding, origami, live coding music/visuals (including algorave), and more.
