This year’s Hatchlines will involve a typically eclectic line-up of “conformism enthusiasts” who want to “ban you from having fun forever”... so something a bit different then.
Friday’s lineup will include Reptile B, an artist fusing grime, UK drill, dancehall, jungle, and punk into a sound that is as chaotic as it is unclassifiable. Local garage rockers Mouthparts are spearheading the Clown Punk Scene. While Leeds’s Devo enthusiasts Cowtown are a guaranteed hoot! The night will finish with Kim Chesnut’s Speed Awareness Course – a speed themed karaoke night interspersed with an educational PowerPoint presentation from Kim herself.
Saturday’s bill includes Territorial Gobbing – an experimental group from Leeds utilising tape collages, drones, and minimalist piano as well as Feudalism Now!, an open improvisatory group who play a maximum of two notes
per performance – an open practice session is happening on July 16 if you fancy joining them.
