Learn about the making that powers play with a new exhibition launching at The National Videogame Museum. From the joys of the LEGO videogame universe, to the hand-built world of Platypus Reclayed, this exhibition champions the digital and traditional techniques that shape videogame production.
Perfect for aspiring game makers, curious players, and anyone who’s ever wondered what it takes to bring a game to life. Make It! Play It! includes early access to Platypus Reclayed, a new claymation game from South Yorkshire’s Claymatic studio – available exclusively at the museum before its official release.
NVM is also celebrating 30 years of LEGO videogames, with gaming inspired by one of the original forms of imaginative play. In partnership with the LEGO Group, discover a colourful mix of playable classics and rarely seen objects from both the Museum’s collection and the LEGO Group’s own archive.
Other ways of making are explored through the embroidered world of Scarlet Deer Inn and immerse hand-painted landscapes of The Master’s Pupil.
The game is also in your hands with free drop-in sessions throughout the summer. Whether you’re sculpting clay characters, building scenes with LEGO, or animating your own short sequence, you’ll learn about the methods behind some of the world’s most imaginative videogames.
Play all Summer
Guests can enjoy the fun again and again, with the museum’s new ticket offer. Any ticket purchased to visit the museum from 24th July to 1st September 2025 can be used again to return for free. As many times as you like!
