Perfect Blue

Mima, a former pop idol who makes a transition into acting, finds herself overwhelmed by provocative offers. She takes on a role in a drama that includes a disturbing assault scene, and even releases nude photos.

Her dramatic reinvention grabs public attention, but also creates unease among those around her, as she struggles with the shift in her image.

As a stalker begins to shadow her, a string of murders begin to unfold, targeting those close to her.

The groundbreaking debut feature from legendary director Satoshi Kon - who passed away in 2010, aged 46 - whose critically-acclaimed works have inspired filmmakers across Japan and Hollywood - influencing Darren Aronofsky's Requiem for a Dream, and Christopher Nolan's Inception - blurring the lines between reality and fiction, dreams and delusions.

Just as relevant today as when the film first premiered in 1997, Perfect Blue explores themes around identity, consumerism, celebrity and parasocial relationships.

A chance to experience this mind-bending psychological thriller on the big screen, in a brand new 4k restoration.
