This June, hunt for cheeky characters across Sheffield city centre on the Urban Dwellers digital art and animation trail.
Urban Dwellers is a fantastical interactive digital art experience for children and families. Download the map, track down the hidden characters, and have fun bringing them to life in augmented reality (AR) on your smartphone screen.
These magical characters are the creations of iconic Steel City artists TADO and Lisa O'Hara.
The characters will be hiding at 15 locations:
- Site Gallery
- Showroom Cinema
- Motore Café
- Millennium Gallery
- Fred Aldous
- Sheffield Cathedral
- Orchard Square
- Steam Yard
- Weston Park Museum
- Moor Market Foodhall
- Sheffield Winter Gardens
- Mow's Coffee
- The Crucible
- Sheffield Hallam Owen Building
- Sheffield’s Children's Library
The character hunt is suitable for ages 5–12 but everyone is welcome to give it a go free of charge.
Urban Dwellers is the 2024 edition of Playground. Established in 2016, Playground is an interactive exhibition where children can imagine, investigate, create art, and have fun. It's run by the folks at the Children’s Media Conference (CMC), alongside their gathering of people working on the most exciting developments in children's media and entertainment.
