A double bill of mysterious, beautiful music from two line-ups, and five wonderful and innovative improvising musicians; towering new sounds to fill the majestic and reverberant surroundings of the Samuel Worth Chapel.
With an emotional rollercoaster of folk-inspired songs and heavy improvisations played by three truly distinctive musicians, acclaimed bass player and vocalist Ruth Goller (Acoustic Ladyland, Laura Jurd, Let Spin, Shabaka Hutchings) brings her new collaboration with British electronic artist and drummer Will Glaser (Liam Noble, Soweto Kinch, Stan Sulzmann, Kit Downes). and Irish Viola player Ultan O’Brien (Martin Green (Lau), Laura Jurd).
Continuing a musical journey initiated on two incredible albums ‘Skylla’ and ‘Skyllumina’ (released on Chicago’s International Anthem label), siren-like vocals and viola melodies meet heavy electronic improvisations and grooves from a musician and trio who are treading an utterly unique path.
'...an entwining of bass and voice that feels like pure science fiction.' - The Quietus
Electronics/sound artist Manon McCoy (balo, Amirtha Kidambi, Emergence Collective, Stuart McCallum) and vocalist/composer Alice Brookes released their debut album ‘objects aligned out of time’ on Elektramusic Berlin in 2025; a project that combines voice, electronics, found sounds and objects.
With kaleidoscopic performances that are nothing less than mesmerising, immersive and vast improvisations continuously evolve from their self-built rig. A project founded on DIY values, they use live signal processing to layer, channel and warp sounds with their own voices. It’s music that is both haunting and entirely original.
'tendrils of voice weave their way around every obstacle and frequently rise above'
'quiet rattles and tentative vocal tones, a tuning akin to an orchestra'
