Toeing the line between haunting beauty and abstract silliness, the Spooky Men’s Chorale are a truly original ensemble.
Performing Georgian polyphonic works, offbeat covers of contemporary pop songs and originals (including ‘Don’t Stand Between a Man and His Tool’), the choir comment on “the absurdity and grandeur of the modern male armed with only their voices, a sly collection of hats and facial hair and a twinkle in the eye.”
Described as “the ghosts of choristers long gone” by The Sydney Morning Herald, the Australian act and their ‘wall-of-man’ sound have become a staple of the festival circuit since forming in 2011.
