Charles Dickens’s Christmas Carol can sometimes be a bit of a grizzly tale (especially when the Ghost of Christmas Yet-to-Come appears on the scene), but the Muppets brighten the Christmas tale right up. Michael Caine plays the grumpiest of scrooges whilst Kermit, Miss Piggy and the gang are full of festive cheer singing songs and romping through the streets of London. Scrooge might appear unrelentingly tight-fisted at the start of the film, but a journey through his past, present and future demonstrates there might be more to life than making money. Dickens’s story is a timeless classic and the addition of the Muppets makes it a comical one too.
