Opening with the Moor Market in November 2013, Sean Clarke and Deborah Jackson’s Beer Central quickly established itself as the take-home shop to compliment Sheffield's rich brewing heritage and amazing pubs.
A teacher for 15 years, Sean grew tired of the lack of exciting bottled beers available in Sheffield. Regularly travelling as far as York’s Trembling Madness to find the Really Good Stuff, he felt it made more sense to open his own shop that he would be happy to buy from.
Beer Central’s shelves are overflowing with modern classics from Wild Beer Co, Kernel and Weird Beard, next to Yorkshire/Sheffield breweries (Summer Wine, Bad Seed, Magic Rock, Saltaire) and some more exotic selections from Europe and America.
A particular feature of Beer Central is its keenness to show off smaller and lesser-known breweries such as Manchester’s Shindigger, Lincolnshire’s Axholme, Powys’s Waen and Nottingham’s Blue Monkey.
They also tend to throw a good beery knees ups during Sheffield Beer Week in March.
