It's always a treat to go to an event in the University of Sheffield's Drama Studio. A traditional church from the outside, its interior comes as a surprise: an intimate theatre, with seating and stalls decked out in red splendour, that manages to retain some of the unique atmosphere of its former life as a Baptist church.
As part of the University of Sheffield's set of performance venues, the Drama Studio dedicates much of its time to supporting students in their theatre endeavours. The studio stage also regularly welcomes musicians, dancers and actors from Sheffield and beyond. Look out for talks, screenings and shows there at festivals like Sensoria and Off the Shelf, and don't miss Enable US, a biannual festival bringing exciting new theatre and performance to Sheffield.
