Site Gallery is Sheffield's home for international contemporary art. After expanding in 2018, it now delivers an even bigger programme of excellent, thought-provoking art.
Expect an exhibitions at Site to be immersive, fun, interactive or all of the above. Their exhibitions tend to keep us coming back time and again throughout their run. Its talks and events are a great way of getting even more stuck in to the ideas explored by each exhibition, while its occasional residency seasons offer the rare chance to nosey in on contemporary art in the making.
Site Gallery is also home to the Society of Explorers, a collective of 14-to-19-year-olds who meet up to chat, make and curate art. The society members are an integral part of Site. When the gallery closed for expansion, they didn't let it stop them from producing their exciting arts programme. Instead, they took art to the streets in their own customised van. The gallery is conveniently close to the station, just a few doors along from the Showroom and close to other galleries if you'd like to make an art crawl of it.
The Site Gallery bookshop and on-site cafe Kollective Kitchen are both destinations in their own right. The bookshop stocks a brilliant range of artist books, cards and prints, while Kollective serve up some of the best breakfasts, cakes and coffee in the city. Grab a window seat for a bit of people watching, or get comfy at a table for some post-art refreshment.

2021 update:
Site Gallery will reopen from 4 June 2021 with an exhibition and installation as part of the Sheffield Doc/Fest Arts Programme. Read their visitor safety guidelines and book in advance. You can also book a table for Kollective Kitchen – open from 18 May.
