The Brothers Arms

Brothers Arms, 106 Well Road, S8 9TZ

Open Sunday-Thursday 12-11pm, Friday-Saturday 12pm-12am

"Please keep your children on a lead and well behaved dogs only please," reads the chalkboard by the stone steps connecting the Brothers Arms' upper and lower patios. It's the sort of cheeky line you'd expect to read at a pub owned by Sheffield's resident ukulele-based comedy covers supergroup The Everly Pregnant Brothers.

From the Brothers' beer garden you can take in a tree-cloaked view of Brincliffe Edge with the grand Abbeydale Picture House poking out in the middle distance, and still keep central landmarks like the stunning Madina Masjid mosque and the council’s zig-zagging Moorfoot Building in the corner of your eye. Greenery, multiculturalism and brutalism captured in a single spectacular panorama.

The pub focuses quite simply on good beer at good prices. Start a mini pub crawl round the Antiques Quarter here, at its most elevated point – not only for the view, but because it's easier to move down rather than up hill after a half of ale.
