If I had to choose a place for my last meal it would be a seafood feast from the Mediterranean.
A long-time favourite of the OFP team, it’s got all the right ingredients for a fish-tastic night out: lovely flavours, hearty portions and fantastic choice, including lobsters and prawns dripping in garlicky butter, paella, delicious seafood stew, and every kind of fish fillet.
It helps if you like fish of course(!), but they also rustled up some tasty plates for my vegan pal recently – actually, I think they liked the challenge. It’s not just the top notch food though, the service is Sheffield-friendly (ie: very), and the decor is homely and incredibly comfy, which makes for a relaxing and well-fed night out.
The Meditteranean is said to be David Blunkett’s favourite Sheffield restaurant. I’ve seen him here a few times, the staff clambering over his guide dog who always favours settling down in the most inconvenient spots!
There’s also a tapas menu if you fancy sharing with friends. I haven’t tried it – I like to keep the catch of the day to myself!
