We believe that learning to sew is about much more than finishing a project – it's about building skills that stay with you.
Our tutor has designed a beginner-specific apron project that gradually introduces the core sewing skills you'll need. Each new technique is explained clearly, including both how to do it and why it works. Before using a new skill on your project, you'll have plenty of opportunity to practise on calico (practice fabric). This means you can gain confidence without worrying about making mistakes on your finished piece.
To make the project your own, you can bring along ‘well-loved-but-past-their-best’ clothes to use for custom pocket and strap details. We will chat about which fabrics work best during our first session, you are also welcome to just use our fabrics.
Through these classes you'll have:
- A solid foundation of sewing skills that will make future projects easier and more enjoyable.
- A beautifully made apron you'll be proud to use.
