Sheffield’s biggest beer hall is swapping oompah for big-band this Tramlines. From crooner classics, brass-based reworkings of modern anthems or a laid-back Sunday afternoon by the piano, The Big Band Weekender offers something a little different.
Friday sees Paul Pashley kick things off with a five-piece band and live saxophone, giving chart favourites and sing-along classics the full big-band treatment. On Saturday, James Barrington Stephens brings a little bit of Vegas to Sheffield with Sinatra, Bublé, Rat Pack favourites and swing standards. Then on Sunday, award-winning pianist and songwriter Paul Shevlin rounds things off with an afternoon of classic and contemporary covers.
