Designed specifically for beginners, this hands-on workshop in Sheffield City Centre will introduce core woodwork skills through making a mini, lidded jewellery box.
Making the box will give an introduction to:
- Reading the wood and understanding the grain
- Measuring and marking with accuracy
- Cutting squarely with different types of saws
- Shaping and smoothing using a plane and sanding
- Assembly
- Applying finishes to complete your piece
As with all our courses, we keep group sizes small, so places are limited to a maximum of 6 people.
Date and Time
This is a standalone, single-session workshop. We are running this content at two different times so you can choose the slot that suits you best:
- Monday, 1st September from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Wednesday, 16th September from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
